Only the wild children

know what parting

means.

The tame ones

think it is merely

good-bye.

  1. What do the wild children lose… and feel the loss of… that tame ones can shrug off so easily? Does their wildness mean they are less “civilized” or less anesthetized, nonreactive? Your sharp poem cuts through. Awesome, Jilly!
