An Open Letter from Orlando to Las Vegas

Wiping fog from the glass,
darkly we see the Three that remain
when the candles are snuffed
knowing that healing comes with

How
Our
Pulsing veins
Envision heaven

not with what our voiceless pain
demands.

Rise each day to your knees.

Take my hand.

  1. That rising to your knees has really captured everyone – including me. It’s such a striking image – of course, you fall to your knees, everyone knows that. How low must you be for that to be rising? Very powerful.

  2. Rising to our knees is a powerful statement. It acknowledges being at our lowest, and needing to kneel before we can stand again. Lovely sentiment.
