I’ve been fascinated by fungi recently and I am so awed by the variety that I have so far seen. I only wish I know the edible ones from the toxic ones.
What you have here is a pretty one.
They are most beautiful! This one is growing from a shrub that I cut down, leaving just a stump. It just begged to be photographed and I thought it looked like ears – hence the quote.
When we were in Maine, I decided to wander in the woods to look for mushrooms. I was happily following the trail of fungi I was seeing before I realized I was lost. Good thing I had the phone and a little signal in the woods, good thing too that I was still within shouting distance, or I would not have been found as quickly.
