Make America Grape Again

Alsace this for the blushing campaigns,
Brayers and trumpeters alike
Thy nose canst not breathe,
No Syrah,
For the talkin’ and tannin
Doth blend from port unto vine
Neither whites nor the reds
Have the body nor plonk
To a-peel me to drink of the wine
For the late bottled vintage
Doth yield up my reserve
And my cup runneth over
With Bacchus and nerve

Over at Poetic  Asides, Robert Brewer has encouraged us to write a “Make ________” poem for the Wednesday Writer’s Digest prompt.

This is the closest I’ll come to making a political statement; a glass of punistic, bi-partisan sarcasm.

A wild soul writing poetry & fiction while teaching high school literature, all with a camera in tow.
