Thunderstorms and Rattlesnakes

I hate LA

she said

where everything

is evergreen

(sneer with

a tinge

of derision)

I long

for a good

old-fashioned

thunderstorm

the thrill

the threat

nitrogen for

my soul

Like the rattlesnake, the beauty of a t-storm is its threat. Your poem captures both the beauty and the threat nicely; an LA “beautiful person” with the sneer. Short, but heavy laden. Great poetry!
