Question the Water

The water

Like the birds

Tells fortunes

Reads palms

Frenzied seeding

Five Cardinals beside

Foe Jays

Millet for me

Sunflower for thee

Scant hours yon

The old man howls

Groans, sweeping no

Ordinary dunes

Over the feeder

May waters follow

The drinking gourd

Lugging tropics on their sledge

Weighted fronds face the ground

Lyric are the undulations

Flipping of cards

Peering through

Crystal-ball back door

28 Days of Unreason

"The only answer I’ve found is the moving water
whose image is without a single lyric"
